Dr. Stephanie Cerny

Originally from Toronto, Stephanie moved to Invermere in 1990 after graduating from the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph. She was drawn to veterinary work in her teens when she was training horses and competing in equestrian events.  Stephanie worked for Dr. Michael Peterson for 2 years.  When Dr. Peterson moved to Golden in 1992, she founded the Invermere Veterinary Hospital.

Stephanie took some time off to raise her 4 children when Dr. Mark Zehnder moved back to the valley and he was able to take over running the hospital.

As a veterinarian, Stephanie has a special interest in small animal wellness and longevity and prefers to tailor her practice to keeping pets healthy and happy in order to avoid problems in later years.  She also loves the challenge of working on complex medical cases and enjoys general surgery.

Stephanie has lived in the valley for 30 years with her husband Mark Moneo, their 4 children and numerous pets- currently 2 dogs, 2 cats and 10 chickens.

Outside of work Stephanie enjoys hiking, biking, gardening and playing bluegrass mandolin.

My favorite part of working at the Invermere Veterinary Hospital is being able to provide the best care possible to our patients and being able to provide some answers to clients that have challenging ongoing health concerns for their pets. It’s also great getting to come to work every day with such a great group of professionals”
